Consider participating in OPEN’s yearly survey of folks in nonmonogamous relationships!
**Seeking participants for this year’s OPEN annual survey of people who identify with non-monogamy**
Five years ago, OPEN launched our first Community Survey with a simple goal: to understand the real experiences of non-monogamous people around the world. What started as a small effort to gather 500 responses has grown into one of the largest ongoing studies of our community, with over 5,800 participants from 65 countries in 2025 alone. The data from the annual surveys have been used to drive real change, including OPEN’s testifying before city councils in Seattle and Portland.
I am helping lead this year’s survey with David Carlson at OPEN. We are grateful for the academic fellowship that was made possible by Christina Fiahlo, Founder and President of Rewrite the BiLine, Emily E. Prior, Founder and Executive Director for the Center for Positive Sexuality, and Dr. Marie Thouin, author, researcher, and leading expert on compersion.
We are seeking volunteers to take part in the study who are 18+ years old, identify with consensual non-monogamy, and can complete an online survey study in English. This anonymous surveytakes about 25-30 minutes and covers topics of identity, interpersonal interactions, experiences in various settings, and more.
Whether you practice polyamory, open relationships, swinging, relationship anarchy, or any other form of consensual non-monogamy, your perspective is welcomed. Please note, no identifying information will be collected (e.g., no names, email addresses, IP addresses). As in any data collection, while we make every effort to keep your study data confidential, there is always a risk of a breach of confidentiality
